Created by the Alaska-based company gScreen, the laptop will feature either two LED backlit 16in or 17in screens, with one sliding out from behind the other. However, the supercomputer is likely to weigh a backbreaking 11lb.

The company’s founder, Gordan Stewart, said they were aiming the portable computer at the growing number of office workers and designers who need a number of monitors to keep track of a multitude of applications at the same time.

He said the first units should cost under £1,800 and will go on sale on the US version of Amazon by December.
